  Reassembling 48 F1. Converted from 4 speed to 3 speed top loader trans. Drive shaft is just slightly too long. From the manual, all looks correct, except cant tell which knuckle/plus assembly at rear of trans is correct. Mine is about 4" from front tip to centerline of u-joint bores, but sticks out of back of trans 3/4". The flange for u-joint at rear axle pinion appears correct. Thinkin of cutting off 5/8" of forward knuckle at rear of trans. Drive shaft is correct 62" measurement according to manual. Any thoughts? After measuring again, have decided to cut 1" off driveshaft. Still welcome any thoughts
