Reassembling 48 F1. Converted from 4 speed to 3 speed top loader trans. Drive shaft is just slightly too long. From the manual, all looks correct, except cant tell which knuckle/plus assembly at rear of trans is correct. Mine is about 4" from front tip to centerline of u-joint bores, but sticks out of back of trans 3/4". The flange for u-joint at rear axle pinion appears correct. Thinkin of cutting off 5/8" of forward knuckle at rear of trans. Drive shaft is correct 62" measurement according to manual. Any thoughts?
