I would like to hear from anyone that has experience installing the Flathead Ted brake modification on a large truck and the benefits and drawbacks of the modification. I have heard that adujusting brakes may require removal of the drums etc. With the $280 proce tag, I want to look before I leap. Thanks!

I'm not familiar with that kit, but installing floaters will require removing the drums and hubs, in any case. Brake adjustment is done outside the drums by adjusting the rods and the crossshaft. Floaters do help cars, but I wouldn't expect a lot of improvement on your big truck. You will have to have good, probably woven, linings, and the wedges, pins and rollers must be in very good shape.
