  Hello rdove,
nice to hear from you you got any pictures?
I'm thinking about changing my tires & wheels right now i have 7.50 x 16 LT Bias on original split ring wheels. they have 8 lug with a 6.5" bolt pattern and i dont' know the inset??
tires are 8.5" at the bulge wide & 31" high with tread width 6.25" wide.the inner hole in wheels are 4.75" dia. they look like military wheels
What do you have on yours tires/wheels.
my other question is do you ever use a jump start 12 volts and do you have a 6 volt battery in truck or a 12 volt in the truck.
Any advise would be much appreciated.
Louie

I've got 16" wheels on mine. They are 5 lug pattern. The F-100s were not quite as heavy duty as the bigger trucks.
I have BF Goodrich Silvertown 16" X 6.50" 4 ply bias tires on it.
I've tried to keep the truck as original as possible. It is the original Glacier Blue color. It seems most of these trucks were "hot rodded" and I wanted people to see what they originally looked like.

You can jump it off with 12 volts. Just don't keep it hooked up long because it turns the starter faster and it gets hot quickly. My truck is 6 volt.

If you have any questions I'll try to answer them or point you to someone who can.

Randy

  Reford53,

Jump starting your truck with 12 volts should be a last resort if it is still set up for 6 volts, POS ground. If not done correctly, your 6 volt battery can explode.

My preference is to charge the 6 volt battery. If that cannot be done, use another 6 volt vehicle or battery to start the truck.

The procedure to jump start with a 12 volt battery, is connect the NEG cable to the starter terminal and then connect the POS cable to the jumping vehicle's POS terminal and the NEG cable to the jumping vehicle ground. Turn on the ignition switch on your truck and connect the POS cable to the engine ground on your truck, The starter should turn and your truck should start. This procedure will keep the 12 volts from damaging your truck's electrical system.

I think that you will have to change the drums and maybe the backing plates to change your wheels. Here is a link to a discussion on this topic.
