Hey guys, anybody know the details of the trans mount on the 41 3/4 ton pu? I have the bottom part. Ir there a spacer or between the crossmember and trans?
Thanks

According to the Chassis parts catalog, the rear motor mounts are the same as the front motor mounts on the 3/4 ton chassis.

What I know for a fact is this: from the bottom up, inside the cross member is a rectangular mount, the 2 mounting holes poke through the 2 holes in the crossmember, but just a bit, maybe 1/16 - 1/8 inch. Are you saying here, that on top of those sits the round "engine" mounts? I know the engine is sitting too low at the rear. Thanks Tom

It may make a difference if it's three speed or four speed. I don't know about '47 and earlier, but on a '48 F-1 the rear mounts are completely different from each other. Unlike the '48, the '41 is a closed drive shaft, I think, so maybe that takes care of it.

I have a 40 and a 41 (3/4) ton being the operetive word here. One 3 speed, one 4 speed. Not a closed drive shaft. Both mount the same way, just seem to missing what is on the top of the crossmember, between the member and the trans.
Making 1 out of 2 here. Ground up, all original.

As I said before on this Forum, I am not a truck guy, but have lots of reference material. Here is a link to the Green Book. It is the Chassis Parts catalog that covers your truck.

Tom, thank you for the info.
Unfortunatly I am unable to find a listing or pics of the transmission mounts. Do you know the pages where those are?
Dennis

In my edition, the engine support section starts on page 223 of the Green Book. The rear support section is on page 235

The mount P/Ns start with 78-6029.

Here is a link to drawings of the motor mounts

pp 235 of the green book confirmed my suspicions. what we have here is exactly the way the pic shows it. The front engine mounts are just that. The trans mount is a rectangular block of rubber with 2 steel sleeves that the 2 bolts go through, extending through the crossmember, just a little bit 1/8 t0 3/16 inch. The trans mount sits on those.
Thanks for the "green book" Tom. Very useful.

That book and a the 41 Chassis Parts catalog are both reprinted and available at most vendors. You might want to get a copy for yourself.
