Can anyone tell me where to find the vin #\ serial # on a '51 pickup? Also would the # be in more than one location? Thanks

don't know about the truck, but on the cars it is on the drivers side frame in the vicinity of the front cross member and the steering box. Hope this helps.

The serial number is on the top of the right hand frame rail close to the rivets for the motor mount arm. They are sometimes stamped very faint, so be careful cleaning the top of the frame to look for it. Mark

I don't know if the number was stamped in more than one place on the frame like the earlier cars. Mark

Roy, I believe that the 51 pickup VIN is located on a tag that is riveted to the glove box door or the left front cab pillar. Tom

There is a tag riveted to the firewall on the passenger side above the battery on a v8 and a rating tag on the inside of the glove box door that will both have the serial number on them. They will match the one I mentioned stamped on the top RH frame rail, if the truck is original. The one on the frame is the only one most state DMV is interested in as a legal serial number. Mark
