Need help with the Shackles and bolts in the front suspension. Ordered new shackles and bolts from Mac's, the bolts are extremely tight. Are they supposed to be and how do you suggest knocking them in?

Some put the bolts in a freezer to chill them and they may shrink just enough so you can knock them in.

Follow Tom's advice about putting them in the freezer.

I like to use a socket that just fits around the outer casing and press them in with a large C-Clamp, but you can also drive them in.

I WOULD BE SURE TO CLEAN & smooth the inside and outside of both pieces and I put a light film of oil before pressing them in. I have used an arbor press for the springs. Pressing may work better then Driving them in. Jms. 35ford
