Topic: leaf spring mounts

The spring mounts on our 40 & 41 3/4 ton pu's are severely worn. These are all riveted to the frame.
I suppose they could be welded up and then bored for new bushings. There appears to be 1 of the 3 different perches at Mac's. Does anybody know of replacements for the others? The one available is the rear most perch.

It is likely that your best bet is to consult a shop that specializes in truck repairs. If the bushings are shot, the pins are probably gone, too. Truck shops are familiar with all kinds of spring repairs.

for my 41- 3/4 ton, I got some from Joblot in NY, one from Specialized in Tx. I have a worn one that could be welded up--I turned a bronze bushing to fit inside and was going to weld up outside when I found the NOS parts.

Thanks for the info. I was able to locate Joblot, but unable to locate Specialized in Texas. Do you have any more info on them? Our perches have worn completely through the bushing and the pin has worn 1/2 way through the perch itself. I have considered welding inside and reboring.

He may have been refering to Antique Auto Supply in Texas. Stacy Brown has a large inventory of both dealer stock and aftermarket.

If you are a V-8 Club member check your roster for Louis Cote' in Nevada. He had a ton of NOS Ford parts and may have what you need.
