Did the larger trucks like the Ford 1 and 1.5 Ton come with a front floormat?

yes-same as pick-up but with a knock-out for shift lever-big trucks also had a knock out for the brake lever. If your one ton has a 4 speed-which parking brake lever does it have? floor or dash?

I don't have one at all. I was asking for a fellow RG member. He bought his uncle's '40 1 ton several years ago and it had a Gates front floor mat in it. Stamped on the mat it says "GATES No.105 F Contour Type 1940 Ford 1 & 1 1/2 ton Trucks." He wondered if Gates made them for Ford as he didn't think Fords had front rubber mats in the large trucks.

All 40's era Ford trucks came with factory-supplied rubber floor mats. We had a 40, a 41, and a 44 (used to build the Kaiser Steel Mill in Fontana), and they all came with
factory mats. I'm sure Gates made replacements, but the original mats would not have been marked "Gates".

In the 50's, there were lots-o-replacement mats available. Most were made of "recycled" rubber, and could be spotted by the little blisters on the top surface.

The floormats for the trucks were the same for 38-47. As noted above, they must be cut to accomodate the floor shift. The C&G item number is A-4009, $149+ shipping. 800/266-0470.
