Looking for some advice for installing glass runs in a 46 pickup with window frames. I purchased the Vintique kit and installed it as instructed and same as original types were installed. However, the repro parts are either a bit thicker, or the metal beading is different because I cannot get the frames to install without scratching them all up on the visible surface. Any advice? Should I try another manufacturer, or does Vintique make them for all of the vendors?

If your glass was replaced by a modern type, it may be thicker than the original. Be sure you have the right pieces. The correct kit for the '46 pickup is 21C-45983-PU as sold by C&G. I don't believe Vintique makes any of their parts. Different channels are made for years 40-41, 42-47, and 48-52, that do not interchange. Getting the wrong parts is not rare today. Whenever we replace glass parts, we protect all finished surfaces with a couple of layers of masking tape as a precaution.
