okay we are working on the door panels. how is the spring installed behind the escunsions (beauty rings) for the window cranks and the door handles. Does the spring (which is shaped like a pyramid) go skinnier side towards the door or towards the handles. and also does it go behind the door panel or in front of the door panel. Thanks for your help.

Small end to the handle, large end to the panel.

|
I have always installed the spring with the small end towards the metal of the door and the large end toward the escutcheon. The small end can push it's way through the cardboard and the large end spreads the force on the cardboard. The spring goes behind the cardboard. Tom
