We are in the process of restoring a 1937 standard pickup. It has a stakebed. This is my fathers truck from when he was young. My grandfather bought it for him. It never looked this nice according to my father. We are in the process of restoring it from the ground up. Dad is trying to stay as original as possible. The truck was parked in my grandmothers barn in 1960 when my dad went into the Airforce. I came home on leave in 1994 and we pulled it out of the barn and brought it home here in georgia. It took some coaxing to get it out of the barn, it was stuck from sitting so long. Took a 8n tractor and my 4x4 to get it out. We got stopped a few times on the way home asking if it was for sale and if we were gonna hot rod it. Nope as my dad would say everytime. So it has taken many years to get it this far. I am trying to find the pictures I took when we pulled it out of the barn for reference of a then and now comparison. I have them somewhere. It wasnt a pretty site, I promise. My Uncle Woody had backed into the front a few times with the brush hog and had used the truck for target practice a few times. All the glass was no good. Most of the chrome had been stolen. When we pulled it out, the frame was cracked on the drivers side badly. We had to brace it up and pray it made it home. I cannot believe it made it here with nothing being lost or fallen off.

  37 Flathead:

Welcome Aboard! You are to be commended by those members who start out with "junk" that belonged
to their ancestors, and have turned it into "jewels". To me, that is the purest form of involvement. It's one thing to go out and buy a restored car, and then learn about it, and quite another to "take whatcha got", and turn it into a museum piece. I'm IMPRESSED!

Dan
