The adjustment is controlled by a threaded yoke on the clutch release shaft. To change it, remove the pin through the yoke and pull from the release arm. Loosen the lock nut behind the yoke and turn it to permit about a inch of free play at the pedal when the yoke and pin are replaced. It will take several tries to get it right. Then retighten the lock nut and replace the cotter pin in the yoke pin. The free play is necessary to allow the pressure plate to fully clamp the clutch disk when the engine speed is increased. The pressure plate is affected by the weights on the arms to fully secure the disk.
