Topic: 50 f1 wheel hub

ststiltn    -- 12-17-2011 @ 9:39 AM
We are rebuilding the front end and are on the last part of it. There is a crack in one of the front wheel hubs. I see the part in the Ford Shop Manual but no part number. I have searched Dennis Carpenter and Macs but no luck. Does anyone have an idea of where I can get this part or know if any other Ford hubs would work? We can weld it but thats the last choice.
Thanks for all the help.

The front hubs and brake drums are usually sold as a unit. The part number for the half ton trucks 40-48 ia 51A-1105-A, and may carryover to '50. I'd try C&G (800-836-7353), as they have maintained a stock of such parts, or may be able to direct you to a source. Welding of hubs, drums, or other such parts is to be avoided. We refuse to do so at our shop for liability reasons.

The current issue of Hemmings has an ad for JOBLOT in NY - they are having a sale on brake drums.

The part number for the '48-'52 F-1 is 8C-1104-A. There are people who advertise used parts for in Hemmings that will have the part.

Thanks for the help. I found the hub at Stylintrucks.com made by Raybestos. I will let you know how it turns out.

I have been informed today after calling to check on the order that the hubs are not in stock and not back ordered. Nice of Stylingtrucks to let me know after they posted to my credit card. I had to call them to find out. I am back in the hunt. Richard I am checking on the used end. If anyone else has any ideas please let me know.
