how do you remove the ignition lock cylinder from a 1946 Ford Super Delux, and also relpace it with a new one?

There is a "break off" pin that secures the lock cylinder. It must be removed, usually by drilling. If you look carefully, you will see it. If you are lucky, you can drill a hole, then insert a screw, and pull out the pin. Most new locks are furnished with a new pin.
