There is a rusted PIECE of a sun visor in my 37 pickup (with deluxe accessories group option), but not enough to tell what it should look like! I THINK it was painted black! Can't seem to find anyone showing a sun visor frame for my particular year/model. I want the one I get to be CORRECT! Any suggestions???
Thanks!!!

James: I can't imagine Ford in 1937 making a one-off sun visor just for a very low-production deluxe pickup.

We know that Ford made some really rare, one-off stuff only found on 32-3-window coupes, but then Edsel was trying to build a "miniature Lincoln". I doubt that was the case with deluxe pickups.

Having said that, wouldn't it be logical to assume that the visor would be the same as those installed on some of the same era passenger vehicles? Those had a die-cast shield-shaped mounting, with holes for 3 mounting screws. There was no "frame" as such, just a rod, with a leatherette covered cardboard visor that slipped over the end of the rod. On the die-cast mount, the rod passed through, and was secured on the back side with a co-axial helical spring at the base of the rod (inside the header) to provide friction to hold it in place.

Others (I hope), will prove this assumption right or wrong, but I'm banking that my wild "A" guess will bring the topic to the top of the list for rebuttal.

If I'm correct, then it should be a simple matter to at least find an image depicting a typical 37 sun visor. I know that the visors on my 38 wagon are as described above, and
were used for several years without changes.

What say the REAL experts?
