Topic: 1937 Pickup WATER PUMP

I just removed the two water-pumps on my 37 Pickup (85hp). Look pretty rough, but believe they could be rebuilt. My question is: Since I am trying to keep this as original as possible, would it be better for me to have THESE rebuilt (with possibly more efficient parts) or are there new ones available that look exactly like the original? Seems I can purchase NEW ONES cheaper than having these rebuilt, but figured there must be a reason for this! Opinions/suggestions appreciated!!

James, Original, to many if not most V8ers, is of such importance that something (seemingly) as insignificant as a lost screw that must be replaced with modern can bring a tear to the eye.

In the case of a pump or a coil, a remanufactured part is better all around, not the least of which reason is that it is Made In America, which says something in itself about quality. I would by all means have your original pumps rebuilt. Every V8er who drives rather than trailer should also have a spare set of pumps and an extra rebuilt coil. This is difficult to do given that there are a limited supply of originals, so get em while you can.

Skip Haney can rebuild your pumps with improved components. The job requires special tools and experience. Skip has both.

Thanks for answers/opinions and have sent them to Skip TODAY! I totally understand about ORIGINAL and am doing my best to keep it this way! I see so MANY that are not original and even the ones that are 95% makes me wonder how many are even existing that are original or replaced with original type parts??? I am having EVERYTHING that I can - rebuilt!!
Thanks!!!
