I am getting ready to install the W/S in my '49 F-1, it has the S/S trim... question is ,does the trim go in the mld'g before I install the glass ???

We install the glass and gasket first, then put the trim into the groove, starting with the sides and work toward the middle. Use plenty of lube. We use Ivory liquid dish detergent. It is best to have a helper, as most windshield trim is easy to kink, and very expensive to replace. If any parts of the gasket need some "persuasion", such as at the corners, we use a tool made from an old screwdriver with the tip bent at a right angle. Just don't bear against the glass, as it will crack easily.
