Fred, is it a passenger car or pickup? Radials or bias tires?

F1, I have yet to buy tires, and I will use radials.

If you have a 49 pickup and it previously had 650X16 tires I would use a radial size of 235X75X15 tires. These should be about the same height as the original 16's.

600X16 was the standard F-1 size. 650X60 was optional. In my opinion, the truck looks much better with 16" wheels.

If you want to go with radials, contact Coker, and they can help you with the size. If you are willing to pay for them, and you want to look something like original, they also have radials that look similar to the old bias ply tires.

If you are asking what the largest size is that you can use on an F-1, I don't know. But, remember, if you don't have power steering, wide tires make an F-1 very hard to steer.
