does anyone know how i might install a t5 transmission behind the 215 six in my 52 ford f3?

This would make a very nice combination, but as I'm sure you already know, there are no commercially available adapters. If it were me, I'd find a GM bell-housing that fits the T-5, and see what it takes to build a plate to adapt the different bolt patterns. This may not be possible, but it is worth exploring. Another option is to roll-form a short tube slightly bigger than the flywheel, and fabricate a rear plate for the trans, and mounting ears for the motor. All of this can be done, and is done frequently in the world of building race cars. Biggest hang-ups are finding a suitable mount for the starter, and providing for a clutch release.

Dan is right on. Many years ago, I installed a '49 Olds "Rocket" engine in my '46 sedan coupe. We had to fabricate an adapter, which was a big job for a pro, but tougher for us "shade tree" type. We did get it together, but had to spend plenty of time shimming it to get it near the point where it didn't shake. If I had to do it over, I would have used both the engine and transmission, as making up a set of motor mounts and changing the driveshaft would make it much easier. Last year, we transplanted a V8 and automatic transmission into a Ford Econoline pickup, and it brought back memories of the first time we tried an engine swap.

Go to www.Ford-y-block.com and scroll down to the T-5 conversion portion there is a modification they perform on your bellhousing to bolt up a T-5. How this would work with your existing crossmember I have no idea; although I was considering this option for my 53.
