can anyone please give me the length of the mirror arm for a stake bed truck. My current ones are 8 1/2" from hinge to mirror bolt hole. I need the longer ones

  Alan:

I have a mirror arm that I took off our 40 when we installed a dump box, and "West Coast" mirrors
in the late 50's. I'll dig it out of the barn tomorrow and measure it for you. It's quite a bit longer than 8-1/2", and appears to be made out of malleable or cast iron, has no curve to it and the mirror head and hinge mount appear to be the same as the mirror on my 38 wagon (work-in-progress) pictured, except not plated. The only reason I kept it was in case I ever wanted to pull a trailer with my 38 (not likely).

Stroker that would be great, nice looking woodie, I have a 40 wagon and am working on 41 3/4 ton stake bed. The original mirror arms are not swan neck style just straight. I guess I am going to extend the short ones that I have to be able to see around the bed.

  Alan:

This mirror arm measures 19 inches from the top corner of the hinge, to the eye at the mirror head.
It is straight, tapered, and has an oval cross-section (oriented like an airfoil), that measures .575 x .725 at the hinge end, and .380 x .400 at the eye end. The mirror is a "nominal" 4", and appears to be the same as passenger mirrors of the same vintage. The hinge yoke has a 2-inch opening, which is smaller than my 38 woodie which measures 2.125.

Dan, my 8 1/2 arm measures very close to your long arm, .595 x .747 and .397 x .387 at the end, also has a 2" hinge opening. Thanks for your help.
PS if you consider selling I would like to purchase.
