I have a 53 ford f100 and put a 460 with a c6 transmit ion. Guessing I can not use the original rear end. What is the best rear end i can throw in there without having to modify it so much? I heard a 1965-68 bronco rear end would not only work great but is the same length of the factory rear end? What do you recommend me using?and where is the best place to maybe pick on up? I am in Phoenix az?

Given the torque of a 460, I'd guess your choices are either a beefed-up 9" Ford, or a Dana 60.
If it was me, I'd opt for the Dana, as it is very strong in stock form, and quite available. The main virtue of the 9" Ford is the deep offset driveline, which you don't need in your application.
The Dana is more efficient, having less of an offset, with the associated friction losses.

  I had a 1959 CADILLAC 390CU 300 HP,in a 1951 FORD 1/2 TON, and used the stock rear, and never had a problems.
it worked just fine,.with the stock trans,3 on the tree,
use the stock till you have problems, its a pretty rugged rear,
hope this helps 37RAGTOPMAN an KEEP on FORDIN,,!!!!

The 9 inch from a pickup from 1957-1972 will drop right in to your truck. Same width and the spring pads will also line up. The rear that you have is pretty tough, but the ratio is probably wrong. Changing ratios in those rear ends is not easy and is expensive. With the 9 inch you can change the 3rd member from any other 9 inch rear(T-Bird, Lincoln, pickup, etc.). It would be real tough to break a 9 inch rear as that is all they used with the 460.
