39 pickup. Bought a wide 5 adapter to check trueness of my wheels, then balance them. The adapter is @ .060 out from true. Adapter came from Speedway. Next up we will see if we can mount a brake drum on his electronic balancer. Anyone have a better idea ?

Mike, ive had my '37 since 2020 and 3 yrs ago i decided to replace the dried up non radial bias ply 9 yr old tires the po had on the car. i got 4 modern radials from amazon tubeless mind you didnt bother to balance either. drive ,handle ,stops great and no loss of air either other coulple lbs during winter. Tom.

Using a wide 5 brake drum on the electronic balancing machine sounds like it would work provided you make sure the brake drum is balanced first.

The brake drum does have a balance weight on it.

I haven't looked but I didn't know radials were available for the stock wheels.

Mike, the modern radial tires i got from amazon were 225/75R16 solaris by a major brand. i cant remember. i can find out. i'm sure you can find them. they were $108.00 each. i didnt want to spend 400. each for the coker bias ply looking radial tires. iv'e seen not so good complaints. i have driven 50 mph with these modern tubeless radials. i dont take hard turns. most of my driving is 35-40 mph. i drive my '37 almost every day. i love the smoothe ride. btw the modern tubeless radials are mounted on the stock wide 5 rims. these are a Cooper brand tire.
