I have FINALLY started restoring my 37 Ford Pickup after going through 2 different people claiming they can restore it! Now that it was taken all apart by someone else, I now have the THIRD person who is actually going to restore it! I have the 1937 Ford book, but it doesn't show exactly where and how the gas tank is installed. Any photos, drawings in any book or personal knowledge is greatly appreciated. WARNING!!! I will have many more questions!!!!! James A. Westbrook

Here is a rear photo of my 1936 Ford pickup chassis. Hope this gives you some idea. The tank sets on top of the rear frame rails with cork like material between tank lips and frame rails. Note that the gas filler is not tightened and so hangs down. One bolt on passenger side of tank, 2 bolts on drivers side. The bolts should have a hole drilled through the head for a safety wire. The bolts screw into caged nuts welded to the lip of the tank.
