  On my flathead engine where does the accelerator return spring connect between? On mine one end connects to the accelerator rod and the other end should connect near the carb somewhere, but I don’t know where. Is there a picture somewhere that I can look at? All the parts catalogs show an exploded diagram, so they don’t help any.

  There is a bracket bolted to the back of the carb. One end of the bracket supports the choke cable and the other end supports the throttle cable. There is a small hole in this bracket between the choke and throttle cables that the spring connects into.

I forgot that I had a picture of the bracket. Perhaps this will help. You can see the hole for the spring in the bracket:

If you look at this second picture, you can almost see where it attaches to the carburetor:

Some of the brackets don't have the hole (for cars)? If you have one that doesn't, use the picture as a guide and drill a hole in it. That's what I did.
