At the drive shaft after the water pump is a flange coupling just before the hand brake, , splines worn away, see pictures is it possible to find this ???

Is this from a fire truck? If a matching spline can be found, a good machine shop can replace the old hub.

We have tackled several "decommissioned" firetrucks over the years. Depending upon the manufacturer/converter of the vehicle, much of the standard equipment has been modified, such as an auxiliary water feed to the cooling system, remote controls, etc. They can be a real puzzle, and require some ingenuity to get them set up for parade or other non-emergency use. Most drive lines have been altered to run a big pump, because the PTO couldn't handle the load, and the pumpers often sat for many hours running at or near full throttle at fires. Drive line components tend to be standard pieces, and as mentioned earlier, a good shop can replace the splined hub. The alternative is to install a replacement drive shaft.
