Topic: 6v fuel pump

I’m not a complete idiot but just need to know how to install a 6v external fuel pump on my 51 ford truck with flathead. Where is best place to connect the black and white wires coming out of the pump and best place to mount pump. Do I just disable the mechanical pump. And I assume connect the gas line from pump to the existing line going from the mechanical pump to the carb. And should I use a manual on off switch that grounds the pump to turn it off and on. I am tired of trying to get it to start by pouring little gas in the carb. Any pointers and advice be appreciated very much as I have owned this truck about 40 years and trying to get it started has been nightmare but it runs great however I’m now afraid to drive it anywhere as never sure if it will start after turning it off THANKS TO EVERYONE FOR HELP

Mount it close to the fuel tank. Normally electric fuel pumps push and mechanical pumps pull.

BE CAREFUL, the 94 carbs wont take fuel pressure above 2 psi. I recommend an inline pressure regulator and a 0 to 20 pound gauge. The electric pump you have will be at least 6 pounds. Found out the hard way. If you are interested, contact Charlies Speed shop in Florida. The extra carbs are just for show for now.
