Thanks to everyone for your responses. I have just returned from F-100 National meet in Pigeon Forge Tenn. I've gained some knowledge on this matter, but would love to have a service manual if i can locate same. WHERE? THANKS

There are no specific nservice manuals for a 36 pickup. What you need is the Ford service bulletin book that covers the 32-37 cars. The pickups share the same chassis, mechanicals and electical as the passenger cars. These manuals can be purchased from any of the V-8 parts vendors that advertise in the V-8 Tiomes or on this website.
