My Ford V8 1940 Truck
mit light stopped while driving,
condensorn
can it make the ignition fails if it is broken ?what is it for?

  I take it mit light stopped, means no spark to spark plugs,,
yes the condensor could be at falt.
please explain a little better,exactly what your problem is,
make sure your ignition switch is working,and has tight connections,and clean connections,
is it a restored truck, is it a V8 FLATHEAD ?

  The condenser is an important part of the ignition system. It serves two purposes: it reduces arcing at the points to prevent burning, and it forms a "tuned circuit" with the ignition coil to allow rapid charging of the coil and, in turn, a "hotter" spark. The symptoms of a poor or inoperative condenser are hard starting, if at all, and low power when once running. If the condenser is shorted internally, the vehicle will not run at all. The usual problem we find is the separation of the condenser terminal from the body of the thing. Some are soldered, others just crimped, and allow the terminal to fall off.
