Topic: Oil filter location for a 1940 V8 95.

I have a 1940 dump truck with a V8 95. Truck runs great . My question is did they have oil filters on commercial trucks and if so where should it be located.
Thanks

Oil filters were optional. They were a canister type with a bracket that bolted to two or three head studs.

The oil filter, a Fram C-4 as I recall, was generally bolted to the left head, near the firewall..
I have attached a pix of a '49 trk engine with a oil fiter.

The picture by wmsteed is for the 8BA model engine. It has designated holes in the left head for the filter canister bracket. On my 40 truck like yours, the filter canister is bolted to the head bolts almost centered on the left side head. The mounting holes in the 40 filter canister base are not the same as for the 8BA. My 47 truck which has an 8BA in it has the filter as pictured.

Here are the installation instructions for the late 1940 oil filter.
