Gents - have a look at the attached pic and please advise what these are used for. A half a handful or so of these were found under the passenger side of the rear seat, apparently discarded/left there during assembly in '47. From what I can tell this is the first time in this Rouge-class car's history the rear seat has been removed (no collectible treasures found either dang it!). Given I have not touched or had to touch the interior I've never seen these fasteners anywhere on the car and am curious what they were used for and where. Thanks - Steve

Greetings, These ARE upholstery nails, but not for the cloth part. I have seen these used to tack down the fiber board that the trim panels and headliner attach to as well as cardboard that is attached to metal. They are a hardened nail that will penetrate and hold in metal. Hang on to them, as the next time you or an acquaintance does an interior, they will definitely come in handy. Hope this helps. Ron

They look just like the nails used to hold down the rubber strip that goes along the cowl on a 1949-50 Ford where the hood rests on the cowl. They were also used to tack in the windlace on Fords. I know that I will be using quite a few to attach the door windlace on my 1936 Ford pickup in the next couple of months.
