Topic: Brake drums

Took brakes apart and found that on my 39 two of the drums are not for this car, one front and one rear. So now on the search for these. Will a 39 Ford be the same?

What makes you think the drums you have are not correct? Maybe they are just different suppliers. A picture would help.

39 Ford drums are the same as the Mercury. Charlie question is the same one that I have.

Charlie, I will take a few pictures tonight. These are completely different from other side, even in size of seals, bearings and studs. I compared these with the ones in my other 39 and completely different.

this is the one that I think is correct as one of the 39s has all this style, the other has two this style and then on the other side like the previous picture.

I have been calling around and can't find.

I see what you mean. The 37-39 drums are hard to find and are not being reproduced. Try a want ad in the classified section of this site, the Ford Barn and the HAMB.

You can also try this recycler,

http://rockymountainrelics.net/

as he has some vehicles from the era. Make sure that the drum does not exceed the safe size.
