On a stock 6 volt system, positive ground, does the coil install as + to the distributor ? I read dozens of different opinions on this on-line re: negative versus positive to the distributor. I am running currently + to the distributor. I am replacing the original coil which reads Batt/Distributor. Thanks for your help. Tracker

Thank you for your reply. The reason for my question...back 9 yrs ago when I was building the car, I bought on line a 50-51 Mercury color wiring schematic which clearly shows the - to the distributor. I never believed it but just in case I decided to check with my peers. I called the author & he readily admitted the mistake & offered a new schematic showing the + distributor. The original schematic was right in all aspects save this one. All the right tech info I got right here on this forum which is the best IMHO on the web. Thanks again. Tracker
