Just what did a 39 Merc 4 dr come with originally for door weather stripping? Was is all the way around, top and sides, or ????? Thanks! Shoebox

The drawing in the Body Parts Catalog only show weather stripping at the front and top of the front doors. The rear doors have weather stripping at the hinge and at the lock pillar. the lock pillar is generic stripping 46.81" long. There is also a header strip 84.5" long. Nobody reproduces all of the correct weather strip for the doors and the catalog does not do a very good job of describing the weatherstripping. The Mercury sedan would have the stripping in the same places as the Ford. The difference would be mainly at the hinges. Tom
