Are rear fenders for 1940 Mercurys all inter-changeable from 4 doors to two doors? If not please discuss how to tell the difference from just looking at a Fender off the car... Thanks

All 40 Mercury fenders should interchange between body styles. There is only 1 P/N for each side. 39 Fenders will also fit the 40 body, but the tail light hole and the wheel opening are different. The fenders are listed in the chassis parts catalogs for 1940. Tom
