my 51 merc carb has a bowl full of gas but no gas is getting to the ventures any thoughts

Are you sure it is gas? You would be surprised to see what we find in all kinds of cars. It may look like gas, smell like gas, but that doesn't mean it is gas.

I found that the check ball in the bottom of the acc. pump chamber was stuck and not allowing the chamber to refill
