I have a diagram for an anti chatter brace, but it isn't very effective. If you are having lots of chatter, check the motor mounts, front and rear, the rear spring cross member clips, and the spring shackles. There are other possibilities, such as a worn or oily clutch disk, and loose clutch linkage. Most old Fords and Mercs have some chatter, and developing a good practice of working the clutch pedal is usually a necessity.
