I got this at a swap meet. It had a Columbia two speed speedometer changer in the back just like a vacuum controlled Ford unit. Looking closer it has King Seely instruments (like Ford) and a Delco speedometer just like a Ford. So is this a Mercury and if so what year? Thanks, Juergen

No it is not a Mercury gauge cluster. It looks more like a truck cluster, but I do not recognize it as a Ford cluster, Tom

TomO's right on, it is a truck cluster. The speedometer shifter was for an Eaton 2-speed truck axle. These are similar in appearance and function to a Columbia shifter, but require substantial modification in order to use as a Columbia replacement. I can't identify the year, but 1940-48 used the same rectangular bezel.

The cluster is not like any that I have seen for the 40-48 Ford trucks, but it is similar to a 30's Dodge or GMC cluster. Tom

Thanks, guys. You are all correct. It is a truck cluster. Another site directed me to do a Google search on "identifying instrument panels" and it showed a 48 International cluster just like the one mentioned. I guess I need to reverse the gear chain to get it to be an overdrive speedo changer.
