The '48 Merc convertible door upholstery panel is trimed out with a 3" high horizontal band of woven looking material located between two plastic strips. Any idea where one might find similar woven material? Lebaron Bonney only has the plastic strips. Carl

That's going to be a tough one, Carl. If LeBaron Bonney doesn't have it, it is likely no one else has, either. When we redid the interior of my '47 convertible, L-B had the plastic door strips, but not the stainless pieces that fit in the plastic, which were not in really good shape, as some idiot had painted the whole interior of the car black! We decided to invest a whole lot of time in restoring the metal trim, as we never did come up with replacments. Open cars are just enough different from the closed that many parts are unique and not reproduced. Perhaps someone has a suggestion as what might come close to the original.
