During the restoration of my 49 Merc Convertible, we discovered the word SPECIAL written in chalk across the back side of the dash panel. Does anyone know what that could mean?

Contact Ron Westwood who is the 49-51 Merc advisor for the V-8 Times. Check the advisor column and Ron lists his e-mail address. I'm no Merc expert, but it any have something to do with the color of the dash.
