I need to replace my double action fuel pump on my 1951 Merc. I have an old one that shows part number 9544 but some I see available online are 9597. What is the difference and will a 9597 work? THANKS!

The AC catalog calls out the 9544 fuel pump for the 1951 Mercury and the 9544 and 9597 pumps for the Ford. The difference appears to be in the vacuum connections. Google Airtex 9544 and Airtex 9597 for drawings of the two pumps. I would go with the 9544 pump. Tom
