Topic: Door Garnish Moulding Removal

Another glass related question,...how does one remove door window garnish moulding?? I see no visible screws, do they snap on/off? I want to ask before beginning to pry on things.

I have a Coupe so my answer will be to direct you places to look for screws.

The Ford door has 4 screws along the side and top of the garnish molding on the 4 door sedan front door. There are none in the bottom section. The Mercury should be the same, but if it isn't the screws come in from the edge of the door. There is another by the vent window bottom. Once all of the screws have been removed, pull the top of the garnish molding toward the inside of the car and then lift up.

Tom, I soooo wish that this molding was retained by screws, .... but it's Not. It appears to use some pretty strong clips to retain. I have manage to unsnap the top side, but the bottom not so much. I need to talk to someone who has done this before proceeding, don't want to damage the molding.

Well guys, I figured it out with some help from the fine folks over on the Ford Barn. After unsnapping the molding along the top and side, one tilts it out towards the inside. Then one taps the molding UP and off.
