I know what the parts books tell me but I am finding it difficult to believe that Ford placed 3" links on the rear shocks of a '40 Ford 1/2T. pickup. Perhaps one of you pickup truck gurus can help me out here? Please? Thanks guys!

Check with Howard Towne who wrote the book on the 40-41 pickups. The pickup rear spring had more leafs and it sat higher in the rear than the passenger cars. I suspect that it required a longer link to compensate for the added height.
