What is the correct finish for the inside of the 1940 bumper wing tips? I have had mine rechromed. They were painted light grey, no gloss, matching the inside of the bumpers. The car is shown in Early Ford V8 meets.

Unlike the bumpers, I could not find any documentation that specified a "finish" to the inside of the bumper end guards. The lack of that specification would most likely mean they (guards) were left "as is" from the plating process. Of course, the back should be smooth - no pits, etc. However, the plating would not have the same "sheen" as the face of the guard. Mike "Kube" Kubarth
