Topic: Inner fender bolts

Are the eight inner fender bolts that you see when you raise hood, ( four on each side that have the large round head with square shank) painted body color? If so how was that done from the factory? Were they dipped with the fenders or were they painted before they were installed? I have seen cars that are suppose to be concourse correct with them painted body color. Does't seem that the factory would take the time to do that. Thanks

I have always thought it odd that Ford would go to the expense to paint the heads of those bolts body color. However, that's what Ford did.
If I recall correctly, there was a small conveyor near the body paint line and the bolts were set in a tray of sorts that would in effect mask the threads.
Bottom line? Yep, paint the HEADS of the bolts to match body color.
