Where can I find the correct sizes for exhaust manifold bolts.
Also is there a web site or some other way to get a listing of all fasteners used on a 1940 flathead motor.
I just finished a rebuild on my engine but somehow have lost the fasteners for the exhaust manifold as well as the distributor and fuel pump.

When my book is published, you will find a detailed description of each and every fastener used throughout the 1940 Ford.
In the meantime, make it easy on yourself and order what you need from Roy Nacewicz.
You won;t be sorry

You asked a question about correct painting instructions for your engine, so I am going to comment about your painting the head nuts and other fasteners.

These were not painted originally. The head nuts were cadmium plated as were the water pump bolts.

Roy Nacewicz has the correct nuts and bolts with the correct finish.

These items only are important when you have the car judged or want to sell it it someone that would like a car restored to original condition. If you are restoring your car to a good driver state and intend to keep it a long time, you can finish the engine any way you want.
