My cars has the swan neck mirrors(I guess that is what they are called). The drivers side works pretty good, but I can not even see the passengers side.In other words it is no good for viewing what is beside me on my right side.I was told the passenger side is just for looks and serves no purpose?I feel like sooner or later I am going to change lanes to the right and hit another car because I have a terrible blind spot.Is this normal when driving a 40 Coupe?

Yes, this is normal. I have had these on my 40 Fordor for almost 40 years, and you cannot even tell there is a mirror on the right side, from the driver's seat.

It is true the right side mirror is useless to the driver. That may be why it was not even offered until late in the 1940 production - simply for appearance...
A properly restored '40 Ford built prior to the end of April, 1940 could not have had one installed.
