Topic: 40 Ford ash trays

In working on an early '40 deluxe I have found there are two different styles of the "tip up" ashtrays. The difference is in the mounting of the two return springs. One style has the springs mounted in a "V" fashion where they run from the back edge of the bracket to a common stamped area in the center of the mounting bracket. The other type has the springs running parallel to each other. There is a spring on each side of the bracket that hooks to a notch in the side of the metal bracket and then hooks on the back of each side of the mounting bracket. This car also has the wiper bracket spot welded to the firewall.
Just curious if anyone has seen any other variation of the "tip up" ash tray.

There are also two different style of the early ash tray one style the divider on the top is front to rear and the other style left to right. The one style is marked with the Mfg. name, the other is not. Look for matching styles on both ash trays.
