Sorry, forgot to mention that the previous question pertains to a 1940 deluxe coupe.

You are nearly "spot on" as to where the wire entered the luggage compartment. There is a 90° bracket that is welded to the floor and side (inner) fender panel. Just rearward of that bracket a bit and close to the fender panel through the floor.
No grommet - Ford placed a little putty around
the wire / hole to weather seal it of sorts.

Thank you, Mike. Your help is always appreciated.
By the way, I am a tool and die guy also. I build plastic injection molds mainly, with a little punch die experience. I know that you have a similar background.

You're very welcome. I try to help when I am able.
I really enjoyed my career. Most of what I did was stamping and form dies, some deep draw dies as well. I retired about ten years ago. I was 49 at the time. It seems I am now more busy then I was then. How can that be?

Glad your retirement 'Hobby' keeps you occupied. I am just a few years behind you and started in this business during the 'Glory Days' of the 70's & 80's for this industry. I think we all know what has happened to it since. I am now a one man shop, and feel very fortunate to have survived. I can't think of anything that I would rather be doing. Any way, Thanks again.

Jim
