Topic: 1940 Ford Coupe Tires (scripted vs nonscripted)

I have a late 1940 85 hp car. I would like to put on the optional 650-16 Firestone tires. I talked with Coker & they have 2 different tires: 650-16 4" whitewall scripted tire OR 650-16 3" whitewall nonscripted tire. Which would be correct? Thank you in advance for your help.

The authentic whitewall width, regardless of manufacturer, were closer to 3". Goodrich, Goodyear, Firestone and of course Ford supplied tires for the 1940 Fords. Firestone and Ford provided the largest percentage.
Whitewall tires (single side)were available only after mid January, 1940. Cars built prior to that got black walls OR double sided white walls.
I like the optional 6:50's on 1940 Fords. In my opinion they fill the fender openings nicer than the 6:00's especially if the suspension has been properly restored.
