Topic: 1940 Ford column drop disassembly

Need help, information, directions on taking a 1940 column drop apart for restoration. Have seen Don Rogers instructions for the '35 - '36. no. 6. says remove the pin from the locking mechanism slide, but no info on how it comes out? No mention in the 1940 book. Some of you are probably familiar with this process, any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Don

Grab the pin, very close to the bottom with "Vice Grip" type pliers, making they as tight as possible. Then use a screwdriver as a pry bar, pry the vice grips straight up. The pin is serrated and will not turn but it will come straight out.
